Justine De-Mott

Clinical Psychologist

MAppPsych(Clinical), MAPS

I am a Clinical Psychologist, registered with the Psychology Board of Australia/ Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA). I provide individual assessment and therapy for adults experiencing a broad range of acute, chronic and complex mental health and relationship issues.
Evidence-based treatment interventions include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Schema Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Imagery Rescripting.
I provide forensic and medico-legal assessment services including Single Expert Witness reports for the Family Court of WA, Parenting Capacity Assessment Reports for the Department of Communities, and Psychological Assessment Reports for Criminal Injuries Compensation claimants.

TREATMENT APPROACH

With experience in government and non-government settings in both Metro and regional locations, my approach incorporates an understanding of trauma-informed care, attachment theory and relational safety, always with the aim of creating a warm, empathetic, and trusting relationship with my clients. A person-centred, non-judgemental approach forms the basis of individualised therapeutic support.I bring flexibility to targeting a range of difficulties across the lifespan, while having a particular interest in working with older adults, where addressing issues such as grief and loss, life-stage adjustment and relational issues might prove to be challenging (especially if seeking support from a psychologist might be an unfamiliar, daunting experience).

REFERRALS, REBATES AND FEES

You do not need a referral to see a psychologist, however, your GP can assess you and if applicable, will develop a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHCP) under the Better Access initiative. This will enable you to receive a Medicare rebate of $149.05 for up to sessions per calendar year.Alternatively you may be eligible for Private Health Fund rebates (please check with your individual fund).
